BEAUTY ACADEMY PROGRAMS

Basic Cosmetology...
This cosmetology course is 1,500 hours which may be completed over a period of nine to twelve months, depending on the students schedule. The school is open five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., with two fifteen minute breaks and a thirty minute lunch break.  

Beginner class time is spent learning the technical skills and theory of hairdressing, hair cutting, manicuring, business, etc., no clinical work is done at this time. 

Freshmen, Sophomore, Junior and Senior time is divided between the clinic and the classroom. The student receives a project sheet of each level that must be completed. This is done by working on their mannequins, students or working in the clinic on patrons. Also included is the mannequin work that prepares the student for State Board Exam. 

The first hour of each day, Tuesday through Friday is spent in theory class, learning cosmetology theory, human relation, psychology, salesmanship, self-improvement and State Law. Tests are given each day. 

The 1,500 hours for this course are comparable to hours required by the surrounding states.

Manicuring...
The manicuring course is 400 hours which may be completed over a period of two to five months depending on the students schedule. The school is open five day a week, Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., with two fifteen minute breaks and a thirty minute lunch break.   

The students time in this course is spent learning the art of Manicuring, Hand and Arm Massage, Treatment of Nails, Artificial Nails and State Law. 

The first hour of each day, Tuesday through Friday, is spent in theory class. Test are given each day.

Instructor Training...
The Instructor Training course is 600 hours and can be completed over a period of six to twelve months depending on the students schedule. The school is open five days a week, Tuesday through Saturday, 8:00A.M. to 5:00 P.M., with two fifteen minute breaks and thirty minutes for lunch. 

An Instructor Trainee must be a licensed cosmetologist, have a High School Diploma or GED, must sign a statement of Good Health, Three photos and Two Character References. 

An Instructor Trainee is required to compile a notebook containing units of instruction for daily lesson plans, job sheet, operation sheets, assignment sheets, information sheets, task analysis, evaluation instruments, tests, measurement and other material to enhance teaching programs. 

The notebook is to be submitted by the school to the State Board for evaluation upon the completion of 300 hours and 600 hours of training. 

An Instructor Trainee will be provided and identifying Badge designating "Instructor Trainee" to be worn by the trainee at all time during the training program. An Instructor trainee will be required to maintain a grade point average of 85% to be evaluated as a good trainee.

EDUCATION OBJECTIVE
At the completion of this course the student will be able to pass the State Board examination and receive a professional cosmetologist's license enabling them to perform any standard cosmetology service required in the beauty salon. 

TUITION 
The breakdown is a follows: 

Tuition $7,750.00
Registration/Enrollment $   100.00
Kits and Textbooks $   650.00
Total  $8,500.00

 The total cost of the above course is $8,500.00 with the Registration/Enrollment Fee of $100.00 payable on the date of enrollment. Kits and textbooks of $650.00 do not become the property of the student until 160 hours are reached and they are paid for. Payments for the course are set up on a schedule of 8 monthly payments of $1050.00 to be paid on the 3rd of each month.

EDUCATION OBJECTIVE
At the completion of this course the student will be able to pass the State Board examination and receive a professional manicurist's license enabling them to perform any manicuring or sculpture nail service required by a salon.

TUITION
The breakdown is as follows:

Tuition  $1,950
Registration / Enrollment $     50
TOTAL $2,000

Total cost of the above course is $2,000.00 with the registration / Enrollment Fee of $50.00 payable at the time of enrollment. Kits and Textbooks do not become the property of the student until they have reached 50 hours and paid for the items. Payments for the course are set up on a schedule of 2 monthly payments of $975.00 to be paid on the 3rd of each month. 

This program is not eligible for the federal Pell Grant Program or Stafford Student Loan. Enrollment requirements are the same as for cosmetology students.

At the completion of this course the student will be able to pass the State Board examination and receive an Instructor's license. The student will be able to teach any procedures for creating lesson plans and curriculums.
