General Information...

State Requirements
Admissions Policy
(for all courses):

All students must be at least 17 years of age. Each student must furnish four photographs, at least two by two inches, two copies of birth certificate, two copies of school diploma or transcript, and two copies of their social security card. If copies are not available bring originals and copies will be made.

Each applicant must sign a statement of good health. Application blanks may be obtained from the school. There will be a $25.00 fee for a student license issued from Missouri State Board of Cosmetology for training. Each student must wear a black and white uniform (pants and shirt) with black smock over, and black or white shoes. Shoes must be stylish, but comfortable.

Chillicothe Beauty Academy, Inc. will accept for enrollment as a regular student any person who has a high school diploma or GED.

Chillicothe Beauty Academy, Inc. does not use the Ability to Benefit policy.

Instructor Trainee must be a licensed cosmetologist.

Kits and textbooks used during training become the property of each student after that student has reached 160 hours and have paid for the items in full.

Enrollment:
Students must enroll at least 15 days prior to the start of the next class.

Enrollment Tuesday thru Saturday 8 A.M. to 4 P.M.. Our intensive course of training can be completed in nine to twelve months determined by selected schedule. You will then be ready to capitalize on your acquired knowledge and skills.

Graduation Requirements (for all courses):
A student will be eligible for graduation upon completion of the hours required by the licensing agency for the studies they are pursuing. Satisfactory clinical and classroom work in both theory and practical application will be required.

All financial obligations must be fulfilled prior to graduation.

Each successful graduate will receive a Diploma certifying that he/she has satisfactorily completed the course of study and training in Cosmetology (1500 hours), Manicuring (400 hours), Instructor Trainee (600 hours) as required by the Missouri State Board of Cosmetology.

Placement Service and Counseling:
Chillicothe Beauty Academy, Inc. offers scholastic and career counseling services as needed to all students. While the school doesn't guarantee employment, the cosmetology field has a constant need for well-trained professionals. Chillicothe Beauty Academy, Inc. is often contacted by salons wishing to interview graduates regarding employment. All employment opportunities are posted.

State Examination:
After completion of the training, students are required to take the state examination held by Professional Credential Services, Inc. The examination is held weekly at the PCS locations. The fee for taking this examination is $120.00 in the form of a money order or a bank draft, made payable to PCS, Inc. The state examination consists of practical skills and a written test on the theory of Cosmetology. Our school prepares you for this exam.

Chillicothe Beauty Academy, Inc. is a modern, well-equipped school with qualified instructors to give you expert guidance in hair styling, hair cutting and hair tinting, as well as other branches of beauty culture. Chillicothe Beauty Academy, Inc. looks to the future by keeping up with new developments in the field of cosmetology. Each instructor is thoroughly familiar with modern cosmetology instruction techniques and will take the time and effort necessary to see that the instruction each student receives prepares him/her thoroughly to perform any facet of professional beauty work.

Access to Student Records...

Right to Privacy: Chillicothe Beauty Academy, Inc., does not release information contained in student's records without written permission from that student ( or parent/guardian if the student is a dependant minor) to any third party request unless otherwise required by law, except to National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Science and to the U.S. Government for accrediting purposes.

If Chillicothe Beauty Academy, Inc. published a directory of information on the students of this school, then the school would allow the students or guardian to deny authority to publish one or more of these items: name, address, phone number, date and place of birth, major field of study, dates of attendance, degrees of awards received, date of graduation, previous school attended, and/or date of graduation from previous school.

Records of your Attendance, Grades, Hours and Progress are kept on file in the office. You may set an appointment to review your records at a time convenient for the office.

Schedule 
Six weeks' orientation begins your course of training. The weekly schedule is as follows:

MONDAY - Closed

TUESDAY - SATURDAY

  • 8:00 A.M. - 9:00 A.M. Theory Class - All students
  • 9:00 A.M. - 4:45 P.M. One/half of the students attend practical class, which includes: working on each other, demonstration, films, mannequins. The remaining half of the students work on the clinic floor.
  • 4:45 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. Duty work - All students
  • Fifteen minute breaks in the morning and afternoon. Thirty minute break for lunch.
