History of the Beauty Academy

The Chillicothe Beauty Academy, Inc. is accredited by National Accrediting Commission of Cosmetology Arts and Sciences, 4401 Ford Avenue, Suite 1300, Alexandria, VA 22302, (phone: 703-600-7600).  The Chillicothe Beauty Academy, Inc. is licensed by the Missouri State Board of cosmetology, P.O. Box 1062, Jefferson City, Missouri 65102. Other memberships include the National Association of Accredited cosmetology Schools, Missouri Association of Student Financial Aid Personnel, Missouri Association of Cosmetology Schools, National Federation of Independent Business and the Chillicothe Chamber of Commerce.

Anyone wishing to view these documents may see these at the school. The license issued by the State Board of Cosmetology is located in the front reception office in plain sight. All other documents may be viewed in the school's business office.

The Chillicothe Beauty Academy, Inc. School of Cosmetology was founded by Mrs. Loolah Cox in 1962 at 610 Webster Street in Chillicothe. The Academy remained in continuous operation at that location until moving to new facilities at 505 Elm Street in January, 1984. The new facility provides expanded classroom and clinic areas. Mrs. Loolah Cox has been the owner since 1962 and is now president of the School of Beauty, serves as Director of Instruction and brings to the school years of experience as a cosmetology instructor and hair stylist.
